Welcome To The Team – Sandy Townsend-Wallace

📢 Recruitment Update 📢

We are thrilled to announce that our search for a new Financial Controller has come to a successful conclusion, and we have found an outstanding addition to the End Systems family!

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Sandy Townsend-Wallace, who joined the team on Monday 3rd March as our New Financial Controller. Sandy’s experience and enthusiasm truly set her apart during the recruitment process, and we are confident she will be a valuable asset to our team.

Sandy’s impressive background includes a stint in the RAF as an engineer, which has instilled in her a strong work ethic and discipline that will undoubtedly serve her well in her new role. Following her time in the forces, she switched gears and pursued a career in accountancy, where she has since held high-profile positions and demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership.

Her extensive experience and strategic thinking will be instrumental in shaping the financial future of our company and will complement the existing strengths of our finance team. We are all looking forward to the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas she will bring to the table.

Manchester Airport Site Visit

One of our Quantity Surveyor’s George Reid attended Manchester Airport for a site visit alongside our Project Manager Gary Swindells.

The purpose of the visit was for site familiarisation; to evaluate scope, current works and progress to date. Ultimately, to gain an understanding of the requirements to achieve a successful project handover.

By observing upcoming milestones, deadlines and considering the logistical planning of a project. It allows an interpretation of the connection between the day-to-day operations on site to the commercial processes.

This in turn broadens and consolidates knowledge on the importance of costs and potential VO’s that may arise in the ever-varying MEP industry. Defining the crucial concurrent roles between the commercial and operational teams.

End Systems Communication Event 2024

Last Friday we held our Annual Communication Event @ our offices in Newton le Willows. All employees were invited to attend the event where they were able to enjoy a breakfast sandwich & catch up with their colleagues.

Our Management Team delivered the below workshops which are our hot topics for 2025.

👷 SHEQ
📄 Document Control Portal Launch
💷 Commercial Update
💡 Innovations within the business

Many staff found the event very informative and appreciated the transparency delivered to the team, this was also a good opportunity for our new recruits to meet the wider team and learn more about End Systems.

Post event we had an early finish too, so a good day had by all! 👏

Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. We’d like to take a moment to highlight how anyone can experience mental ill health at some point in their life, in fact, currently 1 in 4 people do to be more precise…

Unfortunately, as you can see from these statistics. When it comes to Men, there is a lot of stigma around vocalising your mental health issues or reaching out for help when you need it. This often leads to Men bottling up their emotions and failing to receive the help they require.

Let’s use this month to help break this stigma!

Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, it’s ok to not feel ok and you don’t need to “man up”

Don’t let yourself become a part of the statistics…

For those in the construction industry, those statistics are unfortunately even higher. End Systems have a team of trained mental health first aiders to provide support to our colleagues and we also support The Lighthouse Charity, which is a charity that offer a free and confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline, live chat services and text HARDHAT facility. All of which provide a range of information, guidance and support on a huge variety of wellbeing issues.

These services are also complemented by a free Self Support App which offers another route to support, along with Lighthouse Beacons which provide a safe space for people to share concerns.

Business Fives – National Finals

After being crowned Europa League Champions in the regional finals, we were entered into the National Finals in Leeds.

We competed against teams from all over the UK, some travelling from as far away as Southampton to play in the tournament.

After progressing through two separate group stages, playing a total of 10 games, we entered into the first round of the knockouts… where unfortunately, we were knocked out!

A valiant effort all round from the End Systems team, many jaffa cakes were consumed, footballs kicked, and ultimately pride dented… but a great day once again raising money for charity!

Welcome To The Team – Lewis Walsh
