End Systems – 1999 – IIP Accreditation

In the same year that everyone was fretting about the Millennium Bug, the Euro was introduced as currency and ‘Posh & Becks’ became Mr & Mrs… End Systems became a member of Investors In People (IIP).

This represented a major change in the culture at End Systems, and further enhanced our status as a recognised leader in our industry. Headed up by Barry Briers and Kay Corlett, we continue to be members to this day, with the cultures and practices embedded in our business processes.

To find out more about our history and keep up to date with our latest news, keep an eye out every day this week and next week!

End Systems Turns 20!

Ever since its incorporation in 1976, End Systems achieved milestone after milestone, and grew from strength to strength, so much so that in 1996, on 19th May, we celebrated 20 Years of business!

In that same year The Spice Girls were promoting Girl Power, Oasis and Blur were at the height of their ‘Brit Pop War’, VHS would soon be a thing of the past and Dolly The Sheep was the first mammal to be successfully cloned!

In End Systems world, we had new starters such as Stuart Kelly, who is now our longest serving Commissioning Manager.

Ian Lysons, Kay Corlett, Clair Hilton, Andrew Boardman and Phil Spencer all clocked over 10 Years’ service! All of which we might add are now in the 30 Years+ Service club….

End Systems & The CSA

Week two of our look back into our history starts with our long standing relationship with the Commissioning Specialists Association (CSA).

We’re proud to state that we’ve been member of the association ever since its inception in 1990, and have used its grading structure as the backbone of our training program ever since.

Over the years we have won countless CSA awards, and have enjoyed success at each CSA Grade level, all the way up to the much coveted Grade 6.

The next stop on our End Systems history tour will celebrate a big milestone for us! Keep a look out tomorrow……….

End Systems – Introduction to the HVCA

After our start in 1976, End Systems went from strength to strength, building a solid reputation within the industry as we progressed.

In 1980 it was time to establish ourselves even further by becoming members of the Heating & Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA), now known as the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA).

Ever since our membership began, we have been intrinsically linked with the association. Our former Managing Director Brian Townsend became president in 2003/2004, with our current MD Kay Corlett being a valued member of the associations staff standing committee up until very recently!

We’re immensely proud of our continued relationship with BESA, and value being a part of its prestigious history.

Keep an eye out next week for more insights into End Systems!

End Systems – A Journey Through Time

Over the next couple of weeks keep your eyes peeled for some exciting developments in the End Systems camp!

We’ll be releasing a series of articles looking back at our rich history, right up to present day…..

End Systems was incorporated on 19th May 1976, and originally consisted of 3 team members, inclusive of our founder Brian Townsend. We look back fondly on our beginnings at Market Arcade in Leigh, and often regale with stories of how it all started!

The picture in this post shows the location of our first offices at Market Arcade, keep an eye out for more snippets of End Systems through the years…..

End Systems – Work Winning

We’re pleased to announce that we will be working with Laing O’Rourke on the new Manchester Airport T2X project, where we’ll be carrying out the Commissioning Management & Testing and Project Documentation.

The Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP) will modernise and transform the customer service experience Manchester Airport are able to offer passengers and to airlines whilst allowing the airport to continue in its role as job creator and economic provider for the region and the wider North.

The project will see Terminal 2 more than double in size to become the airport’s main centre of gravity. The new, enlarged terminal will have a range of state-of-the-art features and will be designed to deliver a smooth and seamless passenger experience.

On the airfield, work will be carried out to maximise the potential of Manchester’s existing two runways, which have the capacity to handle 55m passengers a year. Taxiways will be remodelled to accommodate more of the world’s largest aircraft, which will jet off to even more far flung destinations in the years to come.

Once again we are proud to continue our valued relationship with Laing O’Rourke, and equally as proud to be involved with such a prestigious project.

End Systems – CSA Success!

Today we’re celebrating the recent success of our very own Jamie Kiss on the completion of his CSA Grade 5 Thesis.

Jamie has been a valued member of our Commissioning team for nearly 20 years now, and has progressed from being a Student Apprentice to Project Commissioning Manager during his time so far.

A massive well done, and good luck with your Grade 6!

End Systems – New Starters!

This week we’ve welcomed two new starters to the End Systems Team. First up we have Lauren White who joins our Estimating Department within the admin team, and also Sam Humphries who joins our Commissioning Team as a Student Engineer.

We wish both a successful career here at End Systems, and we’re eager to see what you will achieve! Welcome to the team!

End Systems – Team Talk

Today we caught up with one of our Technical Authors, Deacon Monks. Deacon has been with us for almost 7 years now, progressing from his initial position as a Student Engineer to a valued member of our Documentation Department, here’s what he had to say about his role and time here so far:

“Since I started working at End Systems I have had a couple of different roles within my department, working as a Student Engineer, Technical Author and AutoCad Technician. I enjoy the different opportunities that my roles provide me as I get to video record on-site training, document some of the major buildings that are being constructed in the UK, and also carry out site surveys as part of my role as an AutoCad Technician.

I love working as part of the Documentation Department because we work as a team and help is always around when needed, but also because I really enjoy the company of my colleagues, which helps make coming to work all the more enjoyable.

I really enjoy working within the construction industry and learning about the new innovative technologies and systems that are installed on new projects, meaning I’m learning something new every day.”

CSA – Exam Success!

Today we’re congratulating our very own Mark Percy for achieving a distinction on his CSA DLC C Exam!

Mark has been working diligently through his CSA gradings recently, and has reaped the rewards with this result!

Well done Mark, and good luck with the rest of your gradings.

End Systems – New Starters!

Today we’re welcoming Paul Prescott and Daisy Drury into the End Systems team.

Paul joins us as an Estimator in our Estimating Department, whilst Daisy joins as a Document Controller in our Documentation Team.

Both are great acquisitions to add to our fantastic existing team, and we can’t wait to see what they can achieve with us.

Welcome to the End Systems family, and enjoy your first day!
